We now know what good looks like in careers guidance. The Government’s Careers Strategy, which builds on the international research of the Gatsby Foundation, clearly identifies the eight benchmarks required to deliver good careers support. One of these is Personal Guidance.
Our position paper builds on the positive work of The Careers & Enterprise Company publication “Personal Guidance -What Works”. It provides real life stories and case studies on the value of Personal Guidance to individuals of all ages and circumstances.
It is produced by individuals from careers organisations who deliver face to face Personal Guidance and see first hand the impact and value of this valuable work. The paper closes with information on sources of help and a plea for the resources to enable the supply of Personal Guidance to start to meet the demand for it.
