Careers England research highlights the growing threat to the Careers Sector as it battles to maintain a strong professional workforce due to low levels of State investment in the provision of careers guidance for young people and adults at a national and local level in England.
Katharine Horler, Chair of Careers England, said:
“I would like to thank Careers England Members, supported by the CDI, for producing this comprehensive report that shines a light on the current recruitment and retention crisis in the careers sector and the future issues that we will face if nothing changes. Well qualified and supported Careers Advisers can make an enormous difference to the young people and adults that they work with, they are well placed to make an important contribution to addressing the skills shortages this country faces so it is ironic that the profession itself faces similar challenges.”
